1000 Hearts
1000 Hearts is a global kindness community!
Community members everywhere are making felt hearts to gift to people struggling with a wide variety of challenges like loneliness, mental illness, sickness and bereavement. Making hearts is easy to learn even if you’ve never sewed before. It uses basic sewing skills with a few little tricks, and the kits come with instructions and the template for the original 1000 Hearts pocket heart.
If you would like to learn more about making a heart to gift to those in need, please contact the Centre on 8742 3688.
Lids 4 Kids Recycling Program
We are a collection point for LIDS4KIDS.
We will be collecting clean washed lids from milk, water, and soft drink bottles (#2 & #4 type of polymer), and plastic bread tags. Once we receive them they will be colour sorted. Then collected by LIDS4KIDS. The sorted lids will then be sent to Zero Plastics Australia in Ballarat to be recycled and reused. The plastic bread tags will be sent to Aussie Bread tags for wheelchairs who in turn sells them to Transmutation in Robe to make bespoke products.
If you have any questions, please contact the Centre.
