Our Story
'Connecting Hearts, Building Communities'
Iramoo Community Centre officially opened its doors in July 2004 under the Associations Incorporation Act, but our story is truly shaped by the people who bring our space to life.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we offer a wide range of short courses, community programs and services for people of all ages and abilities. Everything we do is guided by our commitment to helping neighbours connect, learn, grow and feel a sense of belonging within Wyndham - one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing and most diverse communities.
Our centre is also a place where groups can gather, with facilities available for hire to support community activities and celebrations.

The Centre is led by a dedicated volunteer Committee of Management, supported by our Centre Manager, who looks after the day-to-day running of programs and services.
We are proud to be part of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres (ANHLC) and receive Neighbourhood House Coordination Program funding that helps us offer meaningful programs and community-strengthening activities. Our building is owned and cared for by Wyndham City Council, while the beautiful grounds surrounding it are maintained by Parks & Gardens—ensuring our visitors always feel welcomed the moment they arrive.
Before settling into our current home at 84 Honour Avenue, the Centre operated as the Wyndham Vale Resource Centre at 28 Ridge Drive from 1989 to 2004. Many of the original programs, such as the beloved Tuesday Social Group, continue to bring people together today.
Today, Iramoo Community Centre is a lively, welcoming hub filled with classes, conversations, connections and shared experiences. Many of our programs have grown from partnerships with people, schools, organisations and local businesses that share our values.
Together, we’re building a strong, kind and resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to feel supported and included.
Vision Statement
Our vision at Iramoo Community Centre is to be a vibrant and inclusive hub that connects, empowers, and supports the growth of our community. We strive to foster resilience, lifelong learning, and personal growth by offering diverse programs and services in a safe and welcoming environment.
